A collection of contemporary papers relating to the career of Captain William Dawson (1782-1811), Royal Navy, during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic War, collated by his father, Pudsey Dawson (snr) and his brother Pudsey Dawson (jnr), The papers include:

1. Wrapper annotated 'Papers relating to my late Dear Brother Capt Willm Dawson & my father's correspondence with Mr Barrow of the Admiralty on various subjects,

2. Wrapper annotated 'Letter & Admiralty Extracts from Jno Barrow Esq., Under Secretary to the Admiralty, to my Father, relating to My Brother William's after the Capture of the Piedmontaise in the Indian Seas in March 1808' and 'Copy also enclosed of Adl Drury's letter to the Admiralty'.
